Parasite prevention and control is recommended on a year around basis for your pet. Cats and dogs are commonly infected with internal (intestinal) parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms and coccidia and external parasites such as fleas, ticks and earmites may cause a lot of discomfort to your pets as well. These parasites can effect your pet’s health in negative ways ranging from a minor skin irritation to life-threatening disease conditions such as anemia and organ failure. Moreover some parasites called zoonotic parasites are transmissible to people, so it is of utmost importance that we keep our pets healthy in order for people to stay save and healthy as well. Annual testing and monthly preventatives are readily available and are strongly recommended to minimize the risk and exposure to parasites.
